The course I took at the art school was primarily concerned with the human form but I always try to achieve a facial resemblance. Recognizable features enhance the viewer's connection with the subject.

The rejection of this Evening Times cartoon surprised me. I was given a reason but that reason was so vague it didn't register. It was a, 'This cartoon is inappropriate,' sort of reason.
